Sanskriti presents “Rang Barse“ an event to revive and celebrate our traditions.

Tradition of arranging Kavi sammelan and Mushaira is very common during Holi season in India.

An evening full of priceless humorous connotations, spellbound melodious lyrical presentations from topnotch poets and lyricist from India. Outstanding creations of love and harmony. Their lyrics and songs makes Indian movies hit and superhit. Many playback singers had sung their songs. Respected all over world.

Program would be followed by sumptuous Indian delicacies, with a wider choices of a beverages, appetizers, main course food, various type of bread, traditional Tava roti, direct from tandoor. curd, salad and traditional deserts firni, halwa, rasmalai and ice cream for kids.

Dance on DJ with nicely sequenced Bollywood and Hollywood numbers. I can say with full confidence, this kind of program have never happened here.

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL (TIDF 2018)

The 5th annual Toronto International Dance Festival is organized as a 2-part festival – Summer Series & Fall Concert. The summer series will be held outdoors on Saturday July 7th, 2018 @ Albert Campbell Square (150 Borough Dr., Scarborough, ON M1P 0B1).
The festival is opened to all kinds of dance, traditional or modern, for all age groups and of all races and cultures, both locally and out of province.
There will workshops and dance seminars conducted by professional dance choreographers or instructors.

The entry is FREE for the public.

The 2nd part held in the fall on Sunday September 30 at the Chinese Cultural Community Center located at 5183 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1B 5Z5, is open to professional dancers and dance companies only. This is ticketed event. Interested participants may contact the organizers no later than July 15th, 2018.

IFFA Toronto 2018: Uma Bengali Movie with English subtitles, Mississauga, Ontario L5A 3Y1

In the film, a young girl, Uma (Sara Sengupta) living in Switzerland, is fighting for her life with a terminal disease. She wants to see Durga Puja of Kolkata, the biggest celebrated festival of the Bengali Hindus. Himadri, her father (Jisshu Sengupta) takes her to Kolkata to fulfill her dream by planning to set up a fake Durga Puja. Her father and family struggle much to make his daughter’s dreams come true and find a director called Brahmananda (Anjan Dutt). The failed director sees this as his opportunity to create a masterpiece, by helping a dying girl. After several requests, the director agrees and makes a false set of Durga Puja. During this, they face many problems to make Uma’s dream true.

The plot is based on true events surrounding the life and death of Evan Leversage, who lived in St George in Ontario, Canada.

An annual celebration, the Global Village Festival 2018 promotes cultural diversity in one of the most multicultural cities in the entire world. The event is free to attend and is open to the public. From 10 AM to 10 PM, we plan to pack as much non-stop, fun-filled and safe activities into the event, as we can, for each member of the entire to enjoy.

We want to take festival attendees on a trip around the world without leaving their doorstep with something: Convenient, Inclusive, and Unique.

Our event attracts a number of national members and leaders, businesses and artists; renews partnerships with non-profit organizations such as Healthy Marrow Canada.
The event also delivers live, multicultural performances from musicians, singers, and dancers. We also make available, booths for businesses, non-profit organizations and community representatives to bring attention their organization’s work with multiculturally diverse communities.

The Festival is promoted annually through coverage via various media channels and forums online, in print, and on-air (TV., radio, satellite) in several different languages, reflecting Canada’s cultural diversity.

The “Global Village Festival” is a free public event.
