The Art of Chai Workshop @ Chai Walli Christmas Market, Abbotsford, Australia
December 7, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm UTC+10
Learn the art of traditional masala chai, and how to integrate this in to your modern world, with Uppma, the founder of Chai Walli.
Traditionally, chai is a mixture of black tea and selected spices, brewed with water and milk. The Art of Chai is an exploration in to the origin of chai, its deep rooted Indian culture, Ayurveda, the complex marriage of tea and spices, and how chai is traditionally brewed.
Held at our annual Christmas Market, this limited-ticket event will offer you the opportunity to:
- Understand the journey and culture of chai.
- Identify the key steps to creating a chai blend.
- Taste a traditional chai, brewed by Uppma!
- Be fully equipped & confident to brew chai at home using traditional Indian methods.
This 1 hour class is facilitated by Uppma, who is the grandaughter of an Ayurvedic doctor who specialised in Indian spices and remedial chai. Uppmas’ rich Indian upbringing involved lots of experimenting with Indian herbs and spices, and now with her company, Chai Walli, she is bringing traditional chai in to the homes of avid chai drinkers. She will deliver this class in a fun, open and comfortable approach for you to learn all about chai; the national drink of India.
