Marriage Through a Different Lens,VIC 3047 Australia

What does marriage look like in some of Melbourne’s newer migrant communities? This seminar will explore the cultural and religious influences of marriage within the Arabic, Indian and Turkish communities. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the religious and cultural impact on marriage, and how to approach the challenges within professional services. Expert speakers will discuss appropriate social norms and how to approach clients from these cultural perspectives.

As one of the few women in the migrant Turkish community to attempt and survive divorce, Ebru has always been a trailblazer. Beauty entrepreneur Ebru’s early business ventures were born from her inner strength and positivity. Ebru will talk on how religion and culture impact marriages and family life in Turkey and those living in Australia
