Come along and be part of the Bollywood Movie Month happening for the first time in the City of Whittlesea. All movies have English subtitles.

– Saturday 13th October: 5.30 pm (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge)

– Sunday 21st October: 1.30 pm (M.S. Dhoni)

– Saturday 27th October: 1.30 pm (3 Idiots)

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

An Indian man with a magnanimous heart takes a young mute Pakistani girl back to her homeland to reunite her with her family.

The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 63rd National Film Awards. The film was nominated for Best Film and Best Actor in the 61st Filmfare Awards, as well as other categories, and won the Filmfare Award for Best Story.

When Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) meets Simran (Kajol) in Europe, it isn’t love at first sight but when Simran moves to India for an arranged marriage, love makes its presence felt.

It won 10 Filmfare Awards, the most for a single film at that time, and won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

M S Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)

It is a biographical sports film, presenting the untold story of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s journey from ticket collector to trophy collector – the world-cup-winning captain of the Indian Cricket Team.

The film received the widest release ever for a Bollywood film across 61 countries.

3 Idiots (2009)

Stars: Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharan Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani

3 Idiots is a coming-of-age comedy-drama film. Two friends are searching for their long lost companion. They revisit their college days and recall the memories of their friend who inspired them to think differently, even as the rest of the world called them “idiots”.

The film won six Filmfare Awards including Best Film, and three National Film Awards including Best Popular Film. Overseas, it won the Grand Prize at Japan’s Videoyasan Awards, was nominated for Best Outstanding Foreign Language Film at the Japan Academy Awards and Best Foreign Film at China’s Beijing International Film Festival.
